Founded in 2006 to celebrate the heritage, history, and culture of the ancient Moors.
Moorish History was born from a simple question: Why don't more people know about the Moors?
For nearly a thousand years, the Moors built civilizations that rivaled and surpassed anything in Europe. They brought algebra, astronomy, and advanced medicine to the Western world. They built cities with running water, street lighting, and public libraries when the rest of Europe was living in the dark ages. They established universities that attracted scholars from every corner of the known world.
Yet their story is largely absent from mainstream education. The achievements of the Moors — from the grand libraries of Timbuktu to the palace of the Alhambra in Granada — are often overlooked, minimized, or erased from the historical narrative.
In 2006, Moorish History was founded to change that. What started as a passion project to share these untold stories has grown into a full cultural platform — an online museum, a YouTube channel with a dedicated global audience, a merchandise line, and now cultural heritage trips that take people to walk where the Moors walked.
Through exhibits, documentaries, articles, and books, we bring the full story of Moorish civilization to people around the world.
We document, archive, and celebrate Moorish contributions to science, architecture, philosophy, and culture before they are lost to history.
Through cultural travel experiences, we take people to the actual sites where Moorish history happened — from Spain to Morocco.
We use media, merchandise, and community to inspire pride in this often-hidden heritage and create a global movement of cultural awareness.
Our YouTube channel brings Moorish history to life through documentaries, deep dives, and visual storytelling. Join thousands of viewers discovering the untold stories of the Moors.
